An adult choir serves St. Paul’s, leading the congregation in corporate worship in a variety of musical styles. The choir sings an anthem at weekly services and at special worship services throughout the year. The choir also presents “Church Music Sunday” in the spring, and a Christmas cantata in December.
The choir is always looking for new members. Practice is held Thursday from 7:30 – 8:30PM, and Sunday at 10:10AM, immediately preceding worship. (The choir is not in session during July and August.) For those who are unable to make a weekly commitment but enjoy singing, they are welcome to join the choir for the cantata or other special music.
The choir sings at every Sunday service.
Children’s Choir
A children’s choir meets during the Sunday School hour (9:15 – 10:15AM), and sings at special worship services throughout the year.
St. Pauls’ hand bell choir was formed in 1998, originally as a three-octave bell choir. The Malmark hand bells were acquired mostly through memorial donations. In 2002, two additional octaves of hand bells were purchased – again through donations – completing the current five-octave set. The bell choir comprises 14 members, who practice Thursday evenings from 6:15 – 7:15PM. They play once a month during regular church service, and at special worship services.
A second bell choir was started in Fall 2007. This bell choir rehearses Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00AM. If you are interested in joining this new group, please give Dick a call at 610-398-2079.
